The terraces read completely differently at dusk. The low sun rakes across the paddies, ripe fields go amber, and as blue hour arrives the village houses light up and reflect in the still water — a calmer, more intimate take than dawn.

West-facing terrace wall — The main event — warm rim light on the ridge lines, gold on ripe paddies.
Village terraces — The signature dusk frame: house lights glowing in the paddies under a deep-blue sky.
The same dragon's-backbone terraces that glow at dawn turn quietly dramatic at dusk. From the western lookout the whole mountainside becomes one sculpted form, its terrace lines curving like the contours on a map, dotted here and there with the dark wooden silhouettes of stilted village houses.
As the sun sets, its light slides sideways across the contours. When the crop is ripe the slope lights up in amber and bronze; when the fields are flooded, each paddy holds the last of the daylight like a single step in a staircase of mirrors. The final light is warm and low, perfect for showing the texture of the earth walls. Stay until the sky is deep blue and the village lights flicker on across the terraces — small points of warm orange against the cool dark, with the remaining water smoothed into glass.
